Meet Your Therapist: Juliana
High-achieving, late-diagnosed, empathetic, stressed-out millennial seeking same!
I've felt stuck with weird eating habits, at war with my body, lost on how to move forward from trauma, and feeling like nobody truly sees me.
So, yeah, I get it.
At Wildflower Fields, I believe that you cultivate joy and meaning by living authentically, understanding your critical voice, feeling connected to the world, and being able to laugh at yourself with compassion.
All I want is for you to be exactly who you are on purpose.
AND, not afraid to take up space.
My goal as your therapist is for you to feel truly seen physically, emotionally, and spiritually-without having to change anything.
Whatever your goals are, my goal is for you to feel free. Fierce, whimsical, and like you're frolicking in a field of wildflowers, feeling the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and singing a weird song you made up about skipping in a field. Choosing whimsy and rage as a survival strategy, every day.
Meet my therapy dogs, Bennett and Marlowe!
🩷 🐾 🐶
Bennett and Marlowe are my beautiful,
cuddly, cardboard-stealing poodle thieves.
According to science, they are supposed to decrease stress levels, but they're still puppies, so maybe that's not a thing yet. They definitely boost happiness and elevate mood even through a camera. They love unconditionally and never judge, even when we’re dancing in the kitchen. They're always 100% on the cuteness factor, so if you're feeling big feelings and need a break or just need to watch puppies play in a ball pit, they can help!
They're usually asleep together in a giant rainbow-colored, human-sized dog bed, but if they're playing, you won't hear them because of awesome noise-cancelling headphones. Dog pictures and visits are always welcome in my sessions!
Connection
The connection between people in relationships, the connection to therapist/client, the connection between humans and the earth, the connection between all things. Connection is central to our beings, and by working on the connections to ourselves, our connections with others, and our connection to the energy of the universe around us, we make our lives better and all of the other living things on the planet as well. Just as Mufasa says, “everything is connected in the great circle of life.”
Authenticity
Being exactly who you are without apology. Being your whole self and making peace with perceived imperfections and feeling safe enough in yourself to move through shame. Miss Piggy energy all day, every day. People may talk, and your response will be a hair flip and a “who, moi?!”
Integrity
Integrity comes from the Latin word meaning whole, and at Wildflower Fields, we believe in looking at the whole person. Fully understanding your context, consistently behaving in alignment with your values, being a good person when no one is watching, and always behaving in ways that reflect the best in ourselves is how we always refocus on integrity.
Creativity
Creativity isn’t just being artsy fartsy. It’s surrounding yourself with bright colors and patterns, creating art, and doing anything that helps you see the world from a new perspective. But even more, it is thinking differently, not doing anything in a specific way, having the courage to make mistakes, finding what is meaningful for you, and going for it with boldness and confidence without being certain of the outcome.
Why Wildflower Fields?
I love wildflowers!
Not only are they colorful and uncontrollably beautiful, but they are also incredibly resilient, and many have healing properties. I love that they are part of the natural processes of the earth, grow despite humans, are used in medicine and witchcraft, and all have their own meanings?! Say no more! The wildflowers that I originally connected with were lavender, dandelion, and yarrow.
Lavender represents calm, protection, and pain relief.
Dandelion represents resilience, growth, clarity, transformation, and liver function, which removes impurities and filtration (maybe like therapy?!).
Lastly, yarrow for healing, protection, courage, and love.
